When it comes to a business needing a superfast internet service, a village café isn’t the most obvious.
However, Lucy’s Tea Room in Burnham Market is a rural café that means business – ebusiness.
Located in the heart of the picturesque village of Burnham Market in North Norfolk, Lucy’s Tea Rooms is a traditional English café which serves freshly made bread and cakes and light lunches in fine bone china.
But behind the traditional service is a business that needs reliable internet access to do business.
“We’re no different to a major restaurant in the city or countryside, in that we need a reliable internet service – not something that is intermittent,” said Paul Bowness, owner of Lucy’s Tea Rooms. “The major use for us is in regards to behind the counter services. From accessing business banking services on-line to ordering stock and sourcing new suppliers on the web, a fast and reliable internet service is crucial for us and something that is no longer a nice to have, but a necessity.”
