Select ‘address checker’, then click ‘proceed’ and then enter your postcode only and press submit.

Choose your address from the list that appears.

You’ll then be shown a table of results.  If you can receive fast broadband to your property you will see under the ‘featured products’ column the abbreviation VDSL and your property’s upstream and downstream speed rates (Mbps).

Getting fast broadband?

You now need to check with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that your actual property can get access to fast broadband.  To choose an ISP and find out what fast broadband deals are available to you check out the price comparison sites, which have been accredited by Ofcom by clicking on the button below.

If you can’t get fast broadband at the moment don’t worry you will, by March 2020, at the latest.  You’ll just need to check Openreach’s website regularly.

One slight caveat, this is subject to survey and there always remains the small chance that this reveals something that would require more work than expected which could cause a delay or, in extreme cases, it is possible that severe technical issues will be discovered that prevent implementation altogether.
